O B I T U A R Y William "Bill" Leslie Simpson of Louisville, Kentucky, son of the late Walter B. Simpson and Jessie Hay Simpson, was born on Friday, February 4, 1938 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Baptist Health Louisville Hospital. He was 83 years, and 23 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ, and was a supervisor for Greyhound Bus Lines for 40 plus years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Augusta Lee Pence Simpson on January 6, 1975 having united in marriage in 1959. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Vickie and Steve Huddleston of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren: Kristina Shepherd and her husband, Michael of Elizabethtown, and Stephanie Huddleston of Cecilia; a great-grandchild: Brady L. Payne of Elizabethtown; a sister: Mary Huber of Louisville; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Simpson was also preceded in death by two brothers: James Simpson and Walter B. Simpson, Jr.; and a longtime companion: Ollie Gordon. ………………………………. The funeral services for William Leslie "Bill" Simpson will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. A walk-through only visitation is requested after 10:00 A.M., Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.
