O B I T U A R Y

Troy Rex Houk of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of Rex Wilson Houk and Carol Yvonne Matney Houk both of Greensburg, was born on Tuesday, January 27, 1970 in Green County and departed this life on Thursday, April 2, 2026. He was 56 years, 2 months, and 6 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church. His favorite title was Papaw, and there was no greater joy than spending time with his grandson Ryder. He was a talented artist and loved listening to music and singing.

He is survived by his wife: Angie Houk of Greensburg, having united in marriage on July 1, 1989.

Besides his parents and wife, he was also survived by his daughter: Hannah Dawn Houk of Greensburg; his son: Kelby Rex Houk of Greensburg; grandson: Ryder Wilson Houk; sister and brother-in-law: Tammy Houk Trem and Thomas Jay Trem of Mell Ridge; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Marla Durrett of Greensburg, Danny and Megan Elkins of Green County; nieces and nephews: Cody Ward, Logan Ward, Tanner Durrett, Gannen Durrett, Hayden Elkins, Hunter Marsh, Jeremy Elkins, Brenna Elkins, Kayla Hazelwood, Alyssa Elkins, Addison Elkins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law: Troy Durrett; niece and nephew: Charity and Christian.

Honoring his wishes, the graveside service will be private. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Greasy Creek Cemetery Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
