O B I T U A R Y

Robert G. “Bobby” McCubbins of Summersville, Kentucky son of the late Ray McCubbins and Virginia Durrett McCubbins, was born on Friday, February 13, 1953 in Greensburg and departed this life on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was 73 years, 8 months, and 21 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church, and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Campbellsville. He worked for Freeman Corporation as a log buyer and was a tobacco and cattle farmer. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Barbara Bright McCubbins of Summersville, having united in marriage on February 23, 1970.

Other survivors include a daughter: Gena McCubbins of Louisville; a son: Adam McCubbins of Summersville; three grandchildren: Haley McCubbins Dunbar, Ashley McCubbins, Brixton McCubbins; one great-grandchild: Chandler Jewell; one brother: Tommy McCubbins of Summersville; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Carolyn Scott of Summersville, Marilyn and Ruel Elkins of Greensburg; a sister-in-law: Rowena McCubbins of Magnolia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother: Allen Ray McCubbins; a sister-in-law: Janie McCubbins.

The funeral service for Robert G. “Bobby” McCubbins will be conducted at 1 P.M., Central Time, Sunday, November 8, 2026 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery. Bro. Finis Berry and Bro. Taylor McCubbins officiating.

Visitation is requested from 3 until 7 P.M., Central Time, Saturday at the funeral home and after 7 A.M., Central Time, Sunday until time of the service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
