O B I T U A R Y

Donnie Wayne Buckner of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Robert Buckner and Mollie Curry Buckner, was born on Monday, June 22, 1959 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, December 9, 2024 at his home. He was 65 years, 5 months, and 17 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of New Journey Church. He was a retired manager at the NSU Corporation for 24 years.

He is survived by his wife Linda Gayle Rhinehart Buckner, having united in marriage on August 17, 2002.

Other survivors include: two daughters and son-in-law: Melissa Rhinehart of Metcalfe County, Sarah and Jason Zabel of Green County; two sons: Bobby Whitlow of Metcalfe County, Randy Otis Buckner of Green County; eleven grandchildren: Hunner Whitlow and Katie of Lexington, Lukas Hubbard, Aliya Hubbard, Austin Hubbard all of Metcalfe County, Kora Whitlow, Alijah Zabel, Gabrael Zabel, Dominick Zabel, Karter Zabel, Landon Purvis, Oliver Hall, Anderson Hall all of Green County; one sister and brother-in-law: Janey and Bobby Compton of Little Barren; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Bobby Joe and Joyce Buckner of Greensburg, James and Jeanne Buckner of Louisville; a special dog: Biscuit; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters: Roberta Davenport, Dixie Hagan; two brothers: Billy Buckner, Elroy Buckner.

The funeral services for Donnie Wayne Buckner will be conducted at 1 P.M., Central Time, Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Clack Cemetery. Bro. Jeff Edwards officiating.

Visitation is requested from 3 until 8 P.M., Central Time, Wednesday and after 7 A.M., Thursday until time of the service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Family Burial Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
