Dean
Blevins
Mar 6, 1940 — Mar 22, 2026
O B I T U A R Y
Dean Blevins of Hardyville, Kentucky, son of the late George Blevins and Verna Kidd Blevins, was born on Wednesday, March 6, 1940 in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at his home. He was 86 years and 16 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He loved all things outdoors and was always overseeing that the farm and cattle were well taken care of. Majority of the times, you could find Dean eating at Cindy's Center Grill and socializing at Block City. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, and in his free time, going hunting and fishing. No matter the time of year, his favorite dessert was anything strawberry, especially homemade strawberry ice cream. Dean was a "jack of all trades"; whether it was farming, construction, etc., he could always find a way to fix something.
He was united in marriage to Jolene Atwell Blevins on April 9, 1960, who preceded him in death on February 25, 2012.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Jennifer and Ben Davenport of Hardyville, Becky Jessie of Sulphur Well; seven grandchildren: Autumn Shirley and Brandon of Bowling Green, Megan Crump and Derrick, Nick Jessie and Lizzie all of Sulphur Well, Seth Jessie and Allyson of Seattle, Washington, Hilary Fox and Jon of Greensburg, Brayden Davenport, Emilee Davenport both of Hardyville; 10 great-grandchildren: Sauyer Shirley, Silas Shirley, Sylvie Shirley, Hadleigh Jones, Ezra Jones, Piper Jessie, Lewis Jessie, Easton Burris, Copelee Fox, Corie Fox; a brother: Tom Blevins of Center; sisters-in-law: Phyllis Thompson, Betty Ashe, Norma Ennis; four nieces, one nephew, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a son-in-law: Eddie Jessie; and a brother: Paul Blevins.
