O B I T U A R Y

Carlos Lee Bloyd of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, son of the late Walter T. Bloyd and Lillian Hudgins Bloyd, was born on Sunday, January 14, 1934 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He was 89 years, 1 month, and 20 days of age.

He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Younger Creek Church. He was a Machinist at Brown and Williamson, and also was a member of the Louisville Masonic Lodge.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Anna Louise Whitlow Bloyd on June 25, 2013 having united in marriage on January 31, 1953.

Survivors include a daughter and a son: Kathryn Hart of Louisville and Bruce Bloyd of Elizabethtown; Five grandchildren: Christopher Colburn, Brandie Blake, Ashley Hart, Kyle Hart, Hunter Bloyd; Six great-grandchildren; two brothers: Donald Ray Bloyd of Cloverport, Kentucky and James Wendall Bloyd of Leitchfield, Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Bloyd was also preceded in death by a son and daughter: Stephen Bloyd and Deborah Colburn.

The funeral services for Carlos Lee Bloyd will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery. Bro. Greg Whitlow officiating.

Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Monday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Tuesday until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take form of donation to the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
