Alan Rhue
Blackmor
Jun 1, 1957 — Feb 18, 2023
OBITUARY
Alan Rhue Blackmor of Houston, Texas, a newly arrived resident of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Louis Earl Rhue Blackmor and Berniedean Laverne Persky. Alan, was born on Saturday, June 1, 1957 in Houston, Texas and departed this life on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was 65 years of age.
Alan was a loving father who never failed to keep his door and his heart open to his family and friends. As a master of terrible "Dad jokes" & the subtle art of bad puns, he never shied away from trying to make people laugh or smile, whether he had known someone for a lifetime or had just met them in passing. He was a woodworker, a painter, a gifted landscaper, a minister, the luckiest fisherman God ever made, a hunter and an outdoorsman, a lover and a fighter, a devoted husband (in between his divorces, of course), a rough and tough man's man with a soft spot for dogs and his kids, a devoted Christian, a Texan by heart and by birth, a Republican, a cowboy and farmer, a Texas Barbecue restauranteur, a retiree and a Dad.
He is preceded in death by his stepdaughter Holly Janiece Dotson and stepson Charles Kent Boddie and he is survived by his five children: Lynzee Kay Hughes and husband, David Hughes of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Jason Rhue Blackmor of Justin, Texas, Jessica Paige Trichell of Farmerville, Louisiana, Warren Kyle Blackmor of Austin, Texas, and Christy Lynn Blackmor of Austin, Texas; his three grandchildren: Alexandria Hughes, Brendon Hughes, and Gavin Hughes; a brother and two sisters: Gary Louis Blackmor of Texas, Tina Ann Davis and husband, Norman Davis of Kansas, and Dede Deborah Riedberger of Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Honoring his wishes, his body will be cremated. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held on a later date at the family farm in Texas.
Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, Greensburg in charge of local arrangements.
