Obituary for Houston "Hoot" Willis Simpson

O B I T U A R Y
Mr. Houston Willis "Hoot" Simpson of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late William Lee Simpson and Minnie Hood Simpson, was born on Tuesday, September 29, 1931 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, August 12, 2019 at the Green Hill Rehab and Care Center. He was 87 years, 10 months, and 14 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ, and was a member and deacon of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greensburg. He was retired Civil Service in Fort Knox, and enjoyed woodworking in which he was very gifted.
Survived by his wife of 69 years, Nona Faye Mays Simpson of Greensburg having united in marriage on November 4, 1949.
Other survivors include a daughter: Glenda Brown of Greensburg; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Larry and Pam Simpson of Brandenburg, and Roger Simpson of Greensburg; 10 grandchildren: Brandon Givens of Tennessee, Lisa Burris of Columbia, Nikki Givens of North Carolina, Erika Sprowles, Allison Simpson both of Campbellsville, Tammi Davis of Greensburg, Ryan Lane, Alexis Hubbard, Jacob Cundiff all of Brandenburg, and Erin Wise of Nebraska; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law: Mary Wood and Warren Yeary of Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Simpson was also preceded in death by two sisters: Wilma Gumm and Elaine Simpson; four brothers: Richard Simpson, Ernest Simpson, Loy Simpson, and Herman Simpson.

The funeral services for Mr. Houston Willis "Hoot" Simpson will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Central Time, Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the New Salem Cemetery. Bro. Wilburn Bonta, Bro. Walter Wayne Milby, and Bro. Nathan Crawford officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Thursday until time of the funeral service.
